Today I will be explaining the process of connecting and configuring a wide range of consoles/devices. This will be done in a comprehensive and detailed account, each console/device will be explained with each report being primarily focussed on a single console/device. This will include various images helping me explain each factor I am talking about and will support me. The pictures will also help me as they'll give you (the reader) a visual aid so it gives them a good idea of what I am talking about. The set-ups will be completed in a professional standard, with the use of cable ties/ Velcro straps I will conduct cable management to the best of my ability, this makes the setup a neater more professional look and also helps heat escape the console as there will be no cable blocking the ventilation. This can be a health and safety issue as if your wires are super cluttered then there is risk of a fire, so really you shouldn't even think twice about not setting your consoles up in a professional manner.

With a professionally set up console, you will have a lot less mess, allowing you to pride yourself in a tidy and good looking setup and you eliminate all risk of a fire.

XBOX 360

When setting up a Xbox if you want a professionl looking set up then start with the basics and begin this process by starting again and unplugging all cables which go into either the console or the television, and once the cables are removed you may want to consider to clean them with a duster or something with the same effect as if they have been involved in the messy setup then they may have gathered a lot of dust which may also help contribute to the trapping of heat and you may still have a tiny risk of a fire. With this you also need to make sure that the console is positioned in a good place so that it's cables can reach both a plug socket and a television.

You can then precede to line up the cables from the console to the television making sure there are as neat as possible and are not in any way knotted or tided up. you can then start plugging in the cable; the cables that you will be connecting up is the HDMI cable which goes from the console and then into the back of the television (The HDMI is what gives us the picture and sound) and also you will need to ensure that both power supplys are plugged in, these go from the back of both the television and the console and then go into a normal plug socket, ensuring you are doing this as neat as possible, furthermore you can then link similar cables together using a cable tie, for example tie together all the television related cables. This will rid alot of the wire clutter as similar wires will be together so if you have to search for a wire it will be easier to find as they are linked, furthermore you can also name wires if you want to ensure you know what cable is the one you want.

As you can see on the pictures i started with a absolute mess and i turned into a nice tidy set up, also as you can see i have wrapped larger cables together this is so that the longer cables don't get knotted and from the front you have a nice clean, tidy view with no clutter surrounding the console, television or kinect.

Research - 580 Words

Research
In regards to my textual analysis, in has helped me quite significantly as for a start without this analysis i would still be fairly naive to the many factors of the products and for a starts i wouldn't have a very good idea on things like how the themes of the products follow guidelines which they have to somewhat meet as if they dont then their chosen target market would be as inclined to buy the companies product, this is why for example magazine companies focus quite a lot on the actual front cover as this is the first part of the magazine you will see and though they say not to judge a book by its cover more often then not you will judge, if you don't like the front cover then you wont be very likely to buy the magazine, the front cover gives a impression of how good the magazine is going to be and whats it going to be about. So now after doing the analysis i know what good companies do in order to appeal to the maximum amount of people,  i know what things i need to include on my piece of pre-production and the work i have analysis has gave me a idea of what sort of work i should be looking for.

By analysing different kinds of work i now know what sort of things that will interest the different kinds of target markets, so with this i have a very good idea of how my pre-production can and will appeal to my target market and i have a good idea of the themes/ colours i need to include, I understand the things they use to interest a reader and i now know how i can apply professional techniques to my work, so it also is appealing to a large audience. I know what my work has to be/look like so it meets a professional standard, which ultimately is the main goal of mine (Professional looking work) as this is what is going to impact my grade quite a lot.

The other thing i used to get ideas of how to achieve good looking work is surveys in which i created one and sent it of to numerous people (mainly classmates), by analysis the survey results i got a understanding of what some people would like to see in my work and generally got a understanding of what they like to see in professionals work and what interests them to buy certain products.
With all the information i gathered about various different types of media and which sort of types i, myself should do for my pre-production. I chose to do a CD cover as i felt all the information i gathered sort of pointed me in this direction as i felt like i could do this type better then the other kinds and overall i felt this type would provide both the best grade and also i would enjoy working on it which i believe impacts the final result a lot. The survey helped me choose this and also helped in regards to me picking my target audience and which kind of CD cover will work best. With the survey it helped me understand ages of the people that listen to this kind of music and how i should use this/include this information into the theme of my work in order to make my target audience actually like my end result.

target audience = Young students, female, colour conations(pink)
Pink is a non-threatening colour seeking appreciation, respect and admiration. It doesn't like to be taken for granted and just loves to hear the words 'thank you'.
False sense of security,
Pink is quite a girly colour.
